Katherine "Kathy" Sue Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On February 11th, 2022, Katherine “Kathy” Sue Smith, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away at the age of 63. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Kathy was so loving that her compassion knew no bounds, especially for her children and grandchildren. She was always there for anyone and provided for whatever they needed. She was a huge animal lover and cared for all. Kathy was always so full of life and expressed it in many artistic and creative ways. She loved dancing, music of different genres, and decorating. She loved to laugh, and her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rosemary Groover; spouse, Larry Smith, and siblings, Kathleen Papanicolaou, Connie Stillwagon, and Thomas Groover Jr. She is survived by her children, John Coker (Billie Ryan), Jean Hoerl (Frankie Hollis), April Murrieta (Nathan Carlin), Nicholas Papanicolaou (MariaElena Cruz), Melissa Nichols, and Churee Madison; and siblings, Nina Rose, James Groover, and Cindy Eagan. She has 10 grandchildren: John Coker III, Savannah Coker, Anthony Hoerl (Jordan Grace Hoerl), Kaila Hoerl, Jordan Hoerl, Shelby Hollis, Keith Nichols Jr., Cody Nichols, Mackenzie Melton, Tyler Wadford, and Serenity Wadford, and one great-grandchild, Armani Braxton. We will see her again in Paradise. There will be a Celebration of Life held at her daughter, Jean Hoerl’s, house, located at 2019 Oak Drive, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661 at 3pm on Saturday, February 19th, 2022.
