John Matthew Simmons

John Matthew “Outlaw” Simmons, age 47, of Ethridge, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. The funeral service will be Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Tim Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee. John was born in Cherokee, Alabama and spent many years of his life in Iron City, Centerville, and Ethridge, Tennessee. He loved “Stick Hauling” and was a truck driver for more than 30 years. John loved his boys and his grandbabies. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Betty Simmons; and his brothers, TedAllen, Glenn, and Grayson Simmons; and his best friend, Chris Carlson. John is survived by his sons, Matthew “Lil O” Simmons (Kim) and Caleb “Showoff” Simmons (Hannah); mother of his children, and his friend, Daphine “Pumpkin” Simmons; his grandchildren, Justus (Baby Justus), Trooper (Troop), Ryder (Rideman), Liberty ( Sweet thang), and Bentley (BB); his sisters, Mary Young (Vince) and Tina Edgar (Anthony); a host of nieces and nephews; and his good friends, Huggy Bear, Spanky, Big Show, and Convict. Serving as Pallbearers will be Caleb Simmons, Matthew Simmons, Vince ”Lone Wolf” Young, Micheal “Young Buck” Young, Trent Simmons, Phillip”Kangaroo” Potete, Huggy Bear Bonds, and Spanky Paulk.
