Sarah Jane Osborn Meadows, 65, of Tuscumbia, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Shoals Hospital, after a courageous and valiant cancer battle with her family by her side.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with Seth Hood and William Bonee officiating. Interment will follow in Shoals Memorial Gardens.
Sarah graduated from Colbert County High school in 1965 and attended Trevecca Nazarene College, Nashville, Tenn.
Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family and her two grandchildren, Isabella and Austin, and she also enjoyed flowers and all animals.
Sarah retired after 41 years with Shoals Hospital in the admitting department. Sarah was a member of Nitrate City Church of the Nazarene, and she also attended Colbert Heights Baptist Church.
Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Osborn, and brother-in-law, John Benson.
Sarah is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Larry Meadows; son, Richard and wife, Christy Meadows, Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Isabella Meadows and Austin Meadows, Tuscumbia; father, W.J. Osborn, Muscle Shoals; sister, Esther and husband, Randall Aycock, Tharptown; brothers, Thomas and wife, Sue Osborn, Florence, James and wife, Connie Osborn, Shelby, and Carlos and wife, Susan Osborn, Central Heights; sister-in-law, Patsy and husband, David Burcham, Tuscumbia; brother-in-law, Sammy and wife, Judy Meadows, Locust Shores; nephews, Brad and wife, Angela Osborn, John "Bo" and wife, Sabrina Myrick, Josh and wife, Courtney Myrick, James Aycock, Matt and wife, Stacie Burcham, Jon and wife, Stephanie Burcham, and Dale and wife, Sabrina Fleming; nieces, Casey and husband, Darrell Filyaw, Cammie and husband, Mike Smith, LaTonya and husband, Chris Rager, Anna Gargis, Hannah Aycock, Suzette and husband, Scott Rape, Bridgett and husband, Shannon Chandler, Carla Rose and husband, Joseph Taylor, Katie and husband, Jeremy Orr, Misty Myrick, and Amy and husband, Jeff Michael; numerous great-nephews and nieces.
